Supreme Court brings survivors of forcible acid ingestion under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act
What's happening now
The Supreme Court has expanded the definition of 'acid attack victims' under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act) to include individuals who were forcibly administered acid through ingestion. Previously, the law only recognized victims of acid-throwing.
