India advances hypersonic missile tech with DRDO scramjet breakthrough

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a 1,200-second long-duration test of an actively cooled full-scale scramjet combustor at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) in Hyderabad. This breakthrough demonstrates India's advancing capabilities in hypersonic missile technology, which relies on air-breathing scramjet engines to sustain speeds exceeding Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound).
