The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has notified the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2026, marking the tenth amendment to the rules governing the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. These new rules tighten regulations on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) by mandating the declaration of social media accounts, restricting activities to those specified during registration, and explicitly barring political content.
