The Union Government has introduced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha to strengthen the existing anti-cheating law. The Bill proposes significant enhancements in punishments, including up to 10 years imprisonment and fines up to ₹10 crore, alongside the creation of Special Task Forces and Special Fast Track Courts to expedite investigations and trials.
