Exporters may be asked to monitor supply chains' indirect emissions
What's happening now
The Indian Ministries of Finance and Commerce are discussing whether to require all exporters to measure Scope 3 emissions, rather than just those exporting to the EU and UK which have implemented Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) rules. Scope 3 emissions cover the indirect emissions across a company's entire value chain.
