The National Statistical Office (NSO) has announced significant revisions to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), beginning with Panel 6 in 2027-28. The updated survey will incorporate dedicated mechanisms to track digital platform workers and introduce questions to measure unpaid household and caregiving work, addressing long-standing gaps in India's official employment data.
