The economic viability of Compressed Biogas plants hinges significantly on the supply chain logistics of securing feedstock. Unlike conventional fossil fuels with established infrastructure, biomass feedstocks face unique challenges like seasonality, perishability, and low energy density. While the government has addressed the demand side through offtake guarantees, the focus must now shift to regulatory and logistical facilitation. The governance challenge lies in creating supportive local infrastructure, such as safe storage facilities to prevent fire hazards (especially during summer) and moisture damage (during monsoons).
