NSA Doval, Wang Yi hold border talks in Beijing

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing for the 25th Round of the Special Representatives (SR) talks, a mechanism established in 2003 to address the 3,488 km India-China boundary dispute. This meeting, which included a discussion with Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng, emphasized enhancing strategic mutual trust and strengthening peace in border areas. It occurs in the backdrop of gradually normalizing ties following the October 2024 Modi-Xi meeting in Kazan and ahead of the expected visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India for the September 2026 BRICS Summit.
